Brand Identity Design.

We get branding and visual identity, and we know how to make your business look exceptional... but we do things a little differently...

A brand is more than just a logo. Everything your audience see through their journey with you needs to immediately demonstrate who you are and what you represent – your visual identity.

Visual Identity.

A visual identity is the sum total of what your customers see when they interact with you. Everything from your business cards, website and uniforms, even your quotes and invoices.

The identity is every aspect of how your audience will recognise your brand. From your colours, through to your fonts and how big and how spaced out they are, even the amount of margin to use around your pages. All of it changes your brand’s voice, and therefore the perception of the brand.

This is what makes the difference between a £50 logo from Fiverr, and a well thought through and perfectly executed visual identity.

Why is it important?

If you’re looking to grow your business, a well crafted visual identity can help improve your brand’s credibility, and most importantly, attract the right type of customers.

Your identity can instantly tell your audience what sort of product you’re selling, where you are positioned in the market, and give an impression of personality and values. Research has shown that 64% of consumers say shared values create a trusted relationship with a brand.

Consistently presenting a thorough and professional visual identity demonstrates that you are invested in your brand, and increases your perceived value. Research tells us that consistent brand presentation increases revenue by up to 23%.

Creative Partners.

We don’t just do logos. We understand that you’re probably looking for a creative partner to help you look great all the time. We’ll help you look like the business you aspire to be.

If you’re looking for a new logo or a re-brand, you’ve taken your first step towards making your business look better, but you’re probably not looking to stop there. You’ll have identified things you don’t like about your visual identity, or that your business doesn’t look like the business that will achieve your goals.

The best visual identities are a process, not just an initial development. We want to help you look like the business you aspire to be, so we’ll help you apply your new brand identity consistently – even the parts you make yourself.

The Process.

For us, the process of taking a brief is always a two-way discussion. When developing a visual identity it’s essential in the briefing process to define the business goals, understand people behind the brand, and create a picture of the people the brand is trying to resonate with.

We ask questions designed to provoke and inspire, digging deep to find the core principles that need to be demonstrated. Whether it’s a re-brand or a completely new development, the same questions need to be asked, because in all cases the brand needs to communicate the core values and principles.

Led by the brief, we sketch out our initial logo developments and brand elements, keeping in mind the values and principles established in the brief. We continue to develop the ideas to a point where they are presentable and can show them in-context.

We then present our selected concepts to you for feedback and a chosen direction. Context here is key, you can never fully appreciate a visual identity until you see it in it’s intended context.

Once a direction is chosen that most accurately matches the brand values and principles, we can further develop the concept armed with any feedback given as part of the presentation.

It’s important to take into consideration the places the visual identity will most often be seen, and make sure it works in ALL instances.

The result should be a cohesive brand identity that effectively communicates the core values, and that everyone involved can feel proud of.

We will have carefully considered the impact of colour, the logo, typography, photography, and spacing. All of these will then be defined and recorded in the brand guidelines.

  • A bit of both

FAQs

We know that most people creating a new brand or updating an old one want a creative partner who can help them look great consistently. Rather than taking your money, designing your identity and sending you on your way, we want to make long-term relationships with our clients the goal from the start.

At any point with a monthly plan you can settle the remaining contracted months (usually 12 initially), and walk away. If we’re doing our jobs right though, this should never happen!

We have a lot of experience managing all visual aspects of brands, and we’ll make sure your customer’s experience is consistently in line with the identity we’ve designed. We’ll set regular meetings to go through all your touch-points and make sure they look as good as they can be – including the ones you’ve made yourself.

If we’ve done it right, you shouldn’t have to. Sometimes things change though, like a name or a target market. If the change is a relatively easy one, we can adapt your brand as part of the monthly cost. If you want to completely re-brand though, then we’ll need to re-start the arrangement.

Initially we ask for 12 month commitments, but we’d like to make sure you find enough value from the service that we continue our relationship indefinitely, and therefore after that, you can carry on for as long as you like!

Why offer a monthly model instead of the normal up-front cost?

Brand guidelines.

Good brand guidelines should make the design of any new collateral easy. Every eventuality should be planned for, and applying the visual identity should be obvious.

We create guidelines that are detailed and granular. They include, but are definitely not limited to:

  • Usage of the logo
  • Corporate colours and when to use them
  • Typography and spacing guides
  • Page layout and collateral applications
